Here's a lesson on a very important subject...Subdivision! Once I was able to utilize this concept around the kit, my playing jumped to the next level. Anyone having trouble with fills should check this one out. Enjoy!!
Here's a really cool lesson by Mike Johnston. He teaches that being
able to speak/talk while playing is actually very important in a live
situation just in case something goes wrong with your equioment. If
something goes wrong, you need to be able to speak up to whoever is
back there ready to fix your problem.

Mike Johnston shows a really cool way to play a double bass groove with one foot. It's basically built around a 32nd note double stroke roll between the kick and right hand(deepest floor tom), and when sped up, sounds really cool!
Mike Johnston shows a really cool crossover groove that had both really tight groove, and awesome showmanship.

Now we get into some polyrythms with "4 over 3". Most people become
intimidated from just the mere mention of the word Polyrythm but in all
actuality, most drummers have actually played this and never realized
they were playing a polyrythm.
