Most often heard in military cadences and various other marching parades, the five stroke roll is one of those rudiments you play without actually realizing you're playing it =) For some reason beginning drummers become intimidated by this rudiment because they feel they're roll sounds DIRTY. Just slow down and concentrate on the consistency of your DIDDLES and everything else will fall into place.
