I went to LC Music two days ago, and I saw a beautiful little cymbal, the Sabian Alu Bell, I promised ron I would be back the next day. Then the next day, I got a card for 30$ so I went back and got the 7" Alu Bell, After using it with my kit, it's not as loud as the Zil-Bel, but it's certainly not as ringy. If your looking for a bell under 100$ I woud advise the Alu Bell.

I personally own a zil bel. I put a small piece of tape on it and it seems to sound fine to me :]

Well, I just tried moongel on mine, You can make it do anything for the ringing on my bell. So it will most likely work for your zil-bel.

I may have to try that. I like my Zilbel but like you said it's too loud and has a really long sustain.
