For Part 2, we’re going to add two new rhythmic figures to explore around the kit as fills. We’re still going to get use to these rhythms by practicing them on the snare drum only at first. Once comfortable, we’ll begin to move them around the kit. Remember to be creative and enjoy the journey! |

Hi Billy thank you so much for your lessons on the Fill ideas part 1 on 16 notes, you have shown me the correct way of playing these 16 note fills which i have taught myself played incorrectly before watching your lessons. Regarding to the Fill ideas part 2 where you have to omit the 1st note of every beat e.g. you play LRL (e & a), is there a way you use to help you time yourself to play your left hand on 'e' instead of on '1', '2', '3','4'? Thanks Billy

Hey Billy,
I like how you stick the fills. Initially I learned to do alternate sticking, but to leave out whatever hand needed to rest. Great for keeping the timing correct, IMO.
But now, I had to reprogram myself (with urging of my drum instructor) to use strictly alternating hands for all the rhythms. It is/was a great exercise.
I really like that you are having so much fun presenting these lessons!
cheers, eddie
