So the guys a Drummer Connection all decide to make a trip to Guitar Center, store #777. We figured it would be a great opportunity to see what new gear was set up, and it was also a great time to test out our new Sony PCM-D50 Linear Recorder.

We did have some fun messing with the recorder, although we didn't leave with what we were looking for. At least we left there with one mindset, that the Sony PCM-D50 is awesome!

Notice how the floor toms are gutless? No tone at all! Way to tight on the floor toms. Heh.

Those drums had no low end, and the heads did feel way to tight, especially for those sizes. Sometimes I wish I could just walk in Guitar Center and just tune their drums properly. haha All that kit needed was to loosen the top heads a bit and that would have done alot of justice for it :]

Zildjian Pitch Black Cymbals?
Did you guys see any of the new Pitch Black cymbals from Zildjian? We've heard rumors that a few folks have tried them out at various Guitar Centers, but we haven't had any luck at our local GC.
