On a whim, we pulled out and mic'd the drumbone. Here's one of the tracks we recorded on the drumbone with a click and accompanying keyboard by Cash. This is part of a track we did which is on my playlists

When we were playing the drumbone it was a little hard to connect in areas with the song structure but once we locked in you could feel it!

Besides the fact that drumbone sounds cool as hell, there's something about playing it. As the stickman, you rely heavily on staying in time and playing your own notes / patterns while the slider has to focus on the music. I noticed when I started trying to predict what Cash was playing, I started to fall out of time. You gotta lock in and stay in your own world, yet share the experience with the other person playing the Drumbone with you. It's certainly an incredible instrument and ties the musicians together in a unique way.
