Today is the 2nd round in the 2007 Guitar Center Drum-Off . Drummers all across the nation will compete for a spot in the store finals.

On Aug 28th at Drums 2 Go, one of Orlando's premier drum shops hosted a free drum clinic with special guest Army of Anyone drummer Ray Luzier. Playing in front of a packed house of anxious drummers, the clinic took place over the better part of two hours as Ray discussed stick technique,touring etiquette,and a few of his funnier career experiences which he has played everything from metal to merengue.While not performing on tour with multi-million dollar recording artists Ray occupies his time with various recording projects and a worldwide clinic tour schedule, traveling to Tokoyo and Greece within the coming weeks.

"Luciano Pavarotti, famed vocalist and opera legend, died today after a long struggle with pancriatic cancer. He was 71 years old. Pavarotti was known for his extraordinary voice which gained him popularity neverbefore seen in the classical opera field. As the motivating force for the Three Tenors, he-- along with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras -- sang before hundreds of thousands of fans and sold millions of CDs.Thier concerts were televised to audiences said to number in the billions and earned vast sums of money. As often stated by friends and family "He had a unique ability to touch people with the emotional and brilliant quality of his voice. He was a man with the common touch and the most extraordinary gift. He will be truly missed by millions"

 

 

On Saturday, September 8, 2007, the Naples Philharmonic and the Florida chapter of the Percussive Arts Society will present Percussion Summit 2007. Tickets are $10 for students, $25 for adults for the concert, and for the clinics the price is $14.
