Recording in Pro Tools and Sample Replacement??

steelman - Sun, 02/21/2010 - 11:28 | 3,099 views

Hey guys,
I just go into recording drum covers with M-powered pro tools and a profire 2626. I have famaliarized myself a little with some EQ and Compression options but nothing too complicated. I was wondering how to get that tight clean sound from the kit like you hear on a CD. Any advice about pro tools editing or even a sample replacer like "Drumagog"??? This is a link to a video of a drum cover which has great sound for the kick, snare, and toms but something is weird about it. It sounds a little too good.....lol.

It's hard to tell what sounds are your drums and what sounds are the drums from the track, but it sounds like you need to turn your floor tom up. Post a solo vid or you playing with a drumless track so we can hear YOUR drums.
