In the touring/live show world, this is pretty much a drummer's side-kick. He is the person that sets up, and maintains a drummers drum kit.. Most drummers that are on tour have a Drum-Tech to make things go easier.
For example, Jeff Ocheltree is one of the most famous Drum Techs for being John Bohnam's Drum Tech. Jeff also works with Danny Carey of Tool.
