We're getting close to our drum lesson filming. Today we were doing some sound / video checks. Cash decided to drop by and we got a Bass Jam out of him. Here's three drummers of different skill / experience levels playing to the same bass player.
On the Bass, our special friend Jeffrey Cash who has been a musician for over 25 years. Yeah, he's only 26. The guy is a multi-talented musician. He can play any instrument fluently, to include drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, voicebox, and just about anything else he grabs.
Starting out on the drums is me, drumfreak. Cash is a good friend, and he and I jam together alot, so I figured I'd warm up the room. I've been playing for about 3 years now off and on. Since Drummer Connection, I've taken a more serious approach to my drumming.
Next up is Keith. Keith has been playing for around 4 years and is an impressive drummer. Keith has been in a few bands, and recorded on several albums in local studios. He has performed live on several occasions around the Central Florida area.
Billy Ashbaugh wraps it up with some smooth groove. Billy has been playing for over 30 years, and has experience with bands such as NSYNC, Britney Spears, Pat Benetar, and others. He's also endorsed by DW, Vic Firth, Evans, Shure and LP.
The point of this long winded introduction is that no matter who you are, how long you've played, or how good you are, it's important to have some fun, feel the music and groove out. The important thing is to become fluent in your language, and drumming is that, a language, a method of expression. I have a lot to learn in comparison to others.. Enjoy the jam!
Here's the Audio version:
It picks up after Keith starts, then I do another Jam at the end after Billy to finish off the recording.// drumfreak

drumfreak Says The Left Camera

Oh yeah... we grabbed handycams and just filmed this out of the blue. The left camera was out of sync in the software so I ended up using CROP in the new iMovie and cropped the right video and it zoomed in on it. Haha, pretty neat feature and it worked out in a cool way.
I wish I could upload the full HD version... video conversion sucks.
