Here's Carmine Appice with his "Carmine Appice Shade Cymbal". He's been playing playing them since 1992. It was originally made in a lamp shade factory, but now they are gonna be made by Sabian and distributed by ddrum. The Carmine Lamp Shade Cymbal is a very trashy effects cymbal that gives of a sound similar to a spash and a china cymbal put together. Carmine likes the cymbal because of it's trashy sound and quick decay. The cymbal will go for most likely less than 100 bucks, so look forward to seeing these on the market by ddrum!

One of the coolest sounding cymbals there is. Yes, it looks and feels like it's cheap - but it's not... Haven't cracked it yet, and have played the hell out of it. Love it!

I have one of my own and I love it! After being there when the video was recorded and hearing carmine's playing of the shade, I had to get one for my kit. I recommend them to anyone for any style of music!

I think he used that a lot on the Blue Murder Album. I remember hearing that sound in practically every song.
That reminds me, I gotta pulled that disk out and give it a listen. It's a great album and It's been a while!
