As a drummer, we strive to find new things to learn and incorporate in our playing. Instructional DVD's have been a great way to learn because you can watch it at home and practice at your own pace. Many of today's leading musicans help make these instructional DVD's for the aspiring drummer to build upon. People like Randy Van Patten, have helped add to the vast library with his new release of Extreme Drumset Techniques.

Randy has been a drummer for 30 years, with numerous experiences in playing live, session work, drum clinics and many years of private drum instruction. He has studied many styles of music stemming from his youthful years in the marching band.-

Currently teaching private lessons in Central Florida, Randy released his full length instructional drum DVD, “Extreme Drum Set Techniques” on October 31^st 2007.

C.B.S. a great tool that all drummers should listen and learn from, “control before speed”. This basically means that it is much better to understand things at a slower tempo, so you gain the control desired. Once you have achieved this, then you bring it up to speed. Another great aspect to this video is how Randy brings a more exciting, humorous approach to his instruction on the DVD. This ensures that the learning process doesn't have to be boring and out-dated.
