The other day I had the pleasure of visiting a local shop calledSeminole Music and Sound. Having been in business for over 25 years ,the store has made it's home in a shopping plaza near beautiful LakeSeminole for the past eight.
Carrying just about all of the top names inthe industry whether it be drums, guitar, bass, recording, lessons orotherwise Seminole Music and Sound offers a variety of different tastesfor today's musician. Also one of the few local stores I've ever been tothat was actually open 7 days a week. The staff was knowledgeable, gracious, friendly and very accessible. Manager John Spinelli even tooktime out of his busy schedule to have a lunch meeting with me. A Floridanative himself, in addition to running the store Spinelli also plays anawesome Ddrum custom kit for the local and popular "Big Brother Band".Just ask Army of Anyone's drummer Ray Luzier, who was fortunate enoughto play it when he sat in at one of John's gigs during a Florida clinictour. After getting to know John a little better I could see he was a reallydown to earth guy dedicated to giving drummers what they want: coolgear, great discounts, and life changing opportunities to better themselvesby taking advantage of his on site educational staff, whether it beaccredited Julliard graduate Glenn Meyer or a roster of master cliniciansthat visit the store on a regular basis. Christmas comes early this yearin December their guests include Kamelot drummer Casey Grillo and theamazing John Blackwell......both of which will give PRIVATE LESSONS!That's right, not only clinics, but private one-on-one instruction fromsome of the best in the business....need I say more? So next time you are in the area or like me just have a day off, make itworth your while to check out Seminole Music and Sound. You'll be gladyou did, and we at Drummer Connection look forward to meeting you therefor their upcoming events.

I can't wait to see John Blackwell! Yeah I really hate when most drum stores are closed on Mondays. I'm not sure why they are closed though.

Next time I'm in Tampa Bay area, I'm checking this store out. It kicks ass that it is open 7 days a week. Nothing is more frustrating than getting the wild idea to kick off to a drum store on Monday to find out that they are closed...
I'm gonna go see John Blackwell for sure...
