Mario De La Cruz has just announced a NEW model for his line of drumsticks. Dubbed as the "Encore" this model was created for all of the heavy hitters in mind. These sticks come with no tip, only a rounded edge at the end to provide less flexibility and a strong attack. This is the latest of many new products Mario has in mind for the coming year. Although he hasn't released a price list or sizes for the new stick model you can be sure to hear from him shortly. So what's this stick really like?

As you can tell from the pic above these are not for the gigging jazz musician-although it would make a good stick for a timbale player. You can tell from the photo above it shares some of the same characteristics as Zildjian's 'Backbeat' and the Vater 'Hammer'. These sticks possess a certain uniqueness that makes them a great addition to any drummers stick bag so pick some up for the drummer in your life.
