Today’s lesson is for everyone out there with only a pad and a pair of sticks….just getting started. We’re going to concentrate on subdivision for this lesson, a very important part to being a well rounded drummer!
Here's a lesson on a very important subject...Subdivision! Once I was able to utilize this concept around the kit, my playing jumped to the next level. Anyone having trouble with fills should check this one out. Enjoy!!

This is an exercise that I picked up and taken with me from my days in marching band in High School. It has been really effective for my drumming and technique. This is an exercise that is there to bulk your arms and speed your rolls. Have fun! keep drumming!
For this lesson, Paul breaks down the counting system for an odd time groove in 11/8. He also demonstrates his use of the Single Stroke 4 as well as the 5 Stroke Roll.
Here's a lesson on getting down your single & double strokes....enjoy!!Â
