In today’s lesson we’re going to get busier with the kick drum pattern. It’s time to introduce some 16th note rhythms on the kick drum. This is going to require some independence, so if this is new to you remember to slow everything down and go at your own pace. Don’t forget to download the PDF file for the kick drum patterns to workout with. |

Hi,
I have gone through part one - loved it, but I am struggling with the notation on this one as there only appears to be snare hits and rests. A little help?

Although the notation is written on the snare drum line, it is intended to be played on the bass drum for the exercise....much like New Breed is written.

Ok thanks Billy, I'll have another look at it tonight! Is part 3 uploaded yet (I cant find it), and by the way what drum notation software do you use?

No, I have not done Part 3 yet. Remember, any 16th note notation you can find can be applied to this groove concept!
I use a notation software called Musedit.
Glad you like the lessons!!
