I saw this Jimmy Chamberlin Snare Drum (Signature) by Yamaha over at Musician's Friend. I want it!
Does it sound like this?
"Cuts like a chainsaw, yet has a warm ambiance.
The steel shell of the Jimmy Chamberlin snare drum
has the ability to cut through the music while the satin chrome finish
gives it the warmth to be used in any musical situation.
Steel
shells have the brightest tone of Yamaha's metal shell snare drums. The
Jimmy Chamberlin Signature snare has a satin chrome finish that
controls the shell and adds warmth to the drum.
The small chrome
maple custom-style lugs are durable to withstand high-tension and the
minimum contact area doesn't restrict the shells resonance.
The
H type strainer has the normal tension adjustment, and the G type butt
side also has tension adjustment making it easy to keep the snares
centered on the snare side head.
The Aluminum die-cast hoops are
rigid to give you precise tuning. They are much lighter in weight than
a zinc die cast hoop so that the drum can open up and resonate to it's
full potential.

Very Clean Specimen
I wonder how long he's had that drum or if it's the one used on the album. I bet he used several during the recording. It's a very clean looking drum.
I've always wanted a Sparkly of my very own!

Live Performances
Well, I'm convinced this is a bad ass snare drum after seeing Jimmy Chamberlin play it live last night at the Summer Krush 2008 in Orlando: http://www.drummerconnection.com/user/drumfreak/blogs/2008/08/23/entry-3147-smashing-pumpkins-orlando-summer-krush-tour-2008
